Andrea Claire is a licensed architect, accomplished artist, and surfer. She studied art and architecture at Pratt Institute and Rhode Island School of Design, and Fine Art at California Institute of the Arts in Southern California. After working for the likes of Frank Gehry, Vito Acconci, and the Rockwell Group, Andrea decided to break out on her own in 2011. Inspired by the “invented geometry” of her own abstract paintings of that period, Andrea did research and development on her signature shape, the Polyhedron, for about a year. In the spring of 2011, from the back of her painting studio, Andrea launched her eponymous, sustainably minded lighting design business, Andrea Claire Studio.
With studios in both Brooklyn NY, and Los Angeles CA, Andrea’s talented team carefully hand fabricates sculptural lighting pieces intended to last generations.
Andrea Claire Studio has become a trusted partner to interior designers and architects all over the world. Our clients include The Rosewood Hotel Hong Kong, Jean-Louis Deniot, Robert A.M. Stern, and Victoria Hagan. Working closely and personally with clients the studio tailors dimensions, colors, and materials to suit the needs of each particular space, and client.

"The lights are a triumph and SO perfect for the room... it is like you and I read the clients mind as to what she wanted to achieve with the fixtures."
