Andrea Claire is a licensed architect, widely exhibited artist, and surfer. After working for some A-list designers- Frank Gehry, Vito Acconci, and the Rockwell Group, amongst others.
In 2010 inspired by the “invented geometry” of her own abstract paintings, Andrea decided to start her own lighting design business. Her signature shape, the Polyhedron, was designed in both 3d and model form and made of wood and Bamboo. In the spring of 2011, from the back of her painting studio, Andrea launched her eponymous, sustainably minded lighting design business, Andrea Claire Studio.
In 2015 Andrea began slip casting the polyhedrons with high-fire porcelain. A year later, with orders pouring in, the studio began a collaboration with Nymphenburg Porcelain in Munich Germany, where the porcelain pieces are now fabricated.
In 2019 ACS launched a new collection called "Sublimation", which was inspired by material transformation and deconstructing of the idea of what is finished and what isn't. This new collection expanded the studio’s offerings to include hand mirrored and hand blown glass, standing lamps, sconces and pendants, as well as large scale chandeliers.
Andrea Claire Studio has become a trusted partner to interior designers and architects all over the world. Our clients include The Rosewood Hotel Hong Kong, Jean-Louis Deniot, Robert A.M. Stern, and Victoria Hagan. Working closely and personally with clients, the studio tailors dimensions, colors, and materials to suit the needs of each particular space, and client.
With studios in both Brooklyn NY, and Los Angeles CA, Andrea’s talented team carefully hand fabricates sculptural lighting pieces intended to last generations.

"The lights are a triumph and SO perfect for the room... it is like you and I read the clients mind as to what she wanted to achieve with the fixtures."
